The Cutera Xeo Difference
The Xeo Laser’s unsurpassed results are due to it’s unique design which aims at the melanin in the hairs rather than the skin, minimising the risk of skin burning unlike an IPL Laser. The innovative cooling hand piece reduces the heat on the skin and makes the treatment comfortable.
What do Cutera Xeo Laser treatments feel like?
As the name implies, the CoolGlide handpiece cools and soothes as it glides along your skin. When the pulse of light is delivered, slight heat and stinging sensation may be experienced.
How many Laser treatments will I need?
We recommend that you start with a course of 6 treatments and then we will review the treatment plan if you need further maintance treatments. The number of Laser treatments required depends on your hormones, hair strength, the area treated and whether the hairs were stimulted before with waxing etc.
Is Laser hair removal more effective on some people than others?
The laser is more effective on people that have strong, dark hairs than light hairs. Light hairs will require more treatments and the hairs may not be completely removed. Some people that have hormonal problems are likey to need more treatments. For those that have not disturbed the hairs before with waxing, shaving, get excellent results within a short period of time.
How often should I have a Laser treatment?
The Laser hair removal is mainly effective if the hairs are lasered in the anagen hair growth stage, which is usually between 4 to 6 weeks after the treatment. We recommend that most areas are treated once a month for the first 6 treatments and thereafter you may be able to go longer in between treatments.
Is there any instructions I need to follow before my laser treatment?
Shave your hairs before you come for the treatment, do not apply any oil or creams for leg laser, deodorant for underarm laser or wear tight clothes for bikini laser.
Please note, If you are having the laser for the first time do not shave as we need to see the strength of your hairs on the first visit.
No fake tan to be used one week before and one week after.
What should i experience after the laser treatment?
Immediately following your treatment, the area may appear a bit red and swollen. Three to seven days after treatment the hairs work their way up the follicle and shed. During this process if some strong hairs do not fall away naturally, you can use a scrub or shave to deal with the treated hairs.
If I have hairs in between treatments, what should I do?
You can shave the hairs but you should not wax or pluck your hair, and risk stimulating them again..
What are the possible side effects?
Although patients experience few side effects, the most commonly noticed are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin, similar to a sunburn. These effects typically last for several hours or less. In rare instances, a laser burn or blistering may occur. Apply Aloe Vera gel and cold compress and if you are concerned after a few days contact your therapist .
